A Family Story

Our Story

FilipinoKids.com is a family-run platform inspired by our son, Ethan — built to help children everywhere learn Filipino in a joyful, welcoming, and meaningful way.

FilipinoKids.com was inspired by our son, Ethan, who has grown up mostly in the United States. Even though he has lived most of his young life in the US, he has always been curious about the Philippines, our family's roots, and the Filipino language. From a young age, he would ask us questions about Filipino words, stories, traditions, places, and everyday expressions. He often asked us to help him learn more about the Philippines and the Filipino language.

One moment that stayed with us was when Ethan felt sad after learning that some children in the Philippines whom he knew seemed to prefer speaking another language more than Filipino. That reminded us how important it is to help children appreciate Filipino not only as a language to study, but as something meaningful, beautiful, and deeply connected to identity, family, and culture.

Where we live, there were not as many accessible resources available to help Ethan learn Filipino in a fun, child-friendly way. So, as a family, we decided to create our own. We first built a simple game to help him learn Filipino and Tagalog words. Over time, that family project grew into FilipinoKids.com. We later added Filipino worksheets, and we hope to continue expanding the platform with more Filipino bilingual books, games, and learning resources.

We're learning as we build

This is not what we do professionally. We are also learning as we build this platform, and we welcome feedback, ideas, corrections, and suggestions from families, teachers, Filipino speakers, learners, and anyone who cares about keeping the Filipino language alive for the next generation.

Every dollar goes back to families

Some worksheets are offered for a small fee — such as $1 per worksheet — and subscription options may be available. Every dollar raised will go back into improving FilipinoKids.com, creating more learning materials, building better tools, and making Filipino language learning more accessible for more children and kids at heart.

The Filipino language carries our stories, our humor, our songs, our families, our history, and our love. Through FilipinoKids.com, we hope to make learning Filipino joyful, welcoming, and meaningful for children wherever they may be in the world.

Let's keep learning Filipino together.

Let's keep sharing it.

Let's keep it alive, as it should be.
