Privacy Policy

How Lynaris Consulting LLC handles information for parents and children using FilipinoKids.com.

Version 1.1 · Effective June 16, 2026

FilipinoKids.com is operated by Lynaris Consulting LLC ("we", "us"), trading as FilipinoKids.com. We are a free, ad-free Filipino language learning app for children. This Privacy Notice explains what we collect, how we use it, the legal basis for processing, and the choices parents and guardians have.

Data Controller

Lynaris Consulting LLC is the data controller for personal data processed through FilipinoKids.com. You can reach us at info@lynarisconsulting.com.

Information We Collect

From parents: email address, password (stored securely as a hash), and basic account preferences.

From child profiles (created by parents): first name or nickname, age range, grade level, Filipino learning level, and lesson preferences.

Learning progress: lessons completed, words practiced, badges earned, mastery scores, and play history.

Audio data: when administrators record curriculum audio, those recordings are stored to power lessons. Children do not record audio in the app today.

Payments: if you purchase optional digital worksheets, payment is processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record (see Data Sharing). We receive a record of the purchase but do not store full payment card details.

Live Lessons waitlist: if you opt in, we collect your name, email, and optional details about your child's age range and Filipino level so we can contact you when live lessons launch.

Technical data: standard log information (such as device type, IP address, and approximate timing of requests) needed to keep the service running and secure.

How We Use Information & Legal Basis

  • Provide the service (account, child profiles, progress tracking, worksheet downloads) — legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Personalize learning, save progress and badges — legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests in improving the learning experience.
  • Process purchases and deliver downloads — legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Live Lessons waitlist updates — legal basis: consent(you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Security, fraud prevention, and service integrity — legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Legal compliance (e.g. tax and accounting records) — legal basis: legal obligation.

Children's Privacy

The child experience is free and ad-free. Children sign in using a parent-created username and PIN — they do not need an email address. Children cannot see purchase prompts, cannot access admin tools, and cannot make purchases. See our Children's Privacy Notice for details.

Children should not share personal information inside the app.

Parent Controls

Parents can review, update, or delete child profiles and learning progress at any time from the parent dashboard, or by contacting us.

Data Sharing

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers / subprocessors — cloud hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
  • Merchant of Record (Paddle.com Market Limited) — Paddle handles the sale of digital worksheets, payment processing, billing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refund handling. Paddle acts as a separate data controller for the payment data it collects. See Paddle's Buyer Terms at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
  • Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and audit advisers where reasonably necessary.
  • Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell children's personal information.

International Transfers

Our service providers and Paddle may process personal data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where applicable, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

Data Retention

We keep account and child profile data for as long as your account is active. Deleting a child profile removes its progress and learning history. Closing the parent account removes associated personal data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements (for example, tax records related to purchases, typically retained for up to 7 years). Backup copies are deleted on our standard backup rotation.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, withdraw consent, and (where applicable under GDPR) data portability and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We aim to respond within 30 days. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@lynarisconsulting.com.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. See our Cookies notice for details.
